About Me.
Founded by Cameron Vannan, DAWG was born from a vision to create high-performance dog wear and gear that enhance the comfort, style, and functionality of hunting dogs.
The story began on October 15th, 2017, when Cameron went on his first duck hunt—a day that sparked a lifelong passion for waterfowl hunting. Cameron purchased his hunting dog on Dec 21st that same year. Wilson, his loyal hunting companion who became both his best friend and partner in the field.
While hunting through the cold Idaho mornings, Cameron noticed Wilson shivering and bought a neoprene vest to keep him warm. But the vest caused painful chafing under Wilson’s arms. Drawing from his own experience wearing compression gear in sports, Cameron set out to design a protective, performance-driven underlayer built specifically for dogs.
After years of testing prototypes, the breakthrough came when a seamstress in Boise, Idaho, accidentally reversed the pattern, creating a design that fit and performed perfectly. That “mistake” became the foundation of DAWG’s first product—the PAWformance Tee.
As Cameron’s passion expanded into upland hunting, he partnered with his longtime friend Jake McCracken, founder of Table Rock Kennels, whose German Shorthaired Pointers put DAWG gear through the toughest conditions. Their real-world feedback confirmed what DAWG stands for—protection, comfort, and performance for dogs who work as hard as we do.
DAWG officially launches January 1st, 2026, with a mission to build gear that lets dogs perform at their best—comfortably, confidently, and in style.
